The Croatian artist Maja Brlecic enjoys a varied career as a performer, educator and entrepreneur. Brlecic began her music education at the age of five at the Vatroslav Lisinski School of Music in her hometown Zagreb, where she received training with a focus on classical piano, voice and music theory. While there, she studied with the prominent musicians and pedagogues including Branka Facini-Vrhovski, Nada Puttar-Gold, Blazenka Milic, Cynthia Hansell-Bakic, and later on collaborated with Tomislav Facini, Robert Homen, Diana Hilje, Tatiana ‘Tajci’ Cameron, Robert Porco and Dr. Earl Rivers among others. Ever since, Maja has been a frequent performer on both national and international stages, appearing in numerous musical, theatrical, television and recording productions all across the globe.
Upon her arrival in the U.S. in 2008, she continued her extensive studies at Northern Kentucky University and College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Maja is also a musicologist and has published works in both Croatia and the U.S. In addition, she also runs her own private music studio, and is a program manager at the International School of Music in Potomac, MD. Among a wide range of skills and abilities, her biggest passion is to bring people together through the language she knows best—music.
